How does Pfizer RxPathways help patients?

Question

How does Pfizer RxPathways help patients?

Answer

Trained Pfizer Medicine Access Counselors can help patients by connecting them to the Pfizer programs or resources that can best meet their needs, including:

  • Pfizer Patient Assistance Program1 - Provides free Pfizer medicines to patients who are uninsured or publicly insured via government-provided insurance and unable to afford their copayment. Public Insurance includes Medicare, Medicaid, Champus/TRICARE & VA. Commercially insured patients are not eligible.
  • Pfizer Institutional Patient Assistance Program (IPAP) – Provides eligible, uninsured patients with free Pfizer medicines through select federally qualified health centers, disproportionate share hospitals, and free clinics throughout the country.2
  • Treatment-Specific Hub Programs – Helps eligible patients understand their insurance coverage options and potential financial assistance options for specific oncology and specialty medicines.
  • Co-Pay and Savings Offers – Help eligible patients save on a variety of brand-name medicines, regardless of their income.3

Medicine Access Counselors will also connect patients to independent 3rd party resources, such as:

  • The Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT) – A website that helps patients, caregivers and healthcare providers learn more about various biopharmaceutical industry programs and other private and public resources offered to those who need financial support due to their lack of insurance or inadequate prescription drug coverage. MAT is not its own patient assistance program. Go to MAT.org to learn more.
  • Rx Outreach – A nonprofit charitable organization that provides eligible patients with access to more than 500 medications at an affordable cost. To learn more, go to www.rxoutreach.org
  • NeedyMeds – A nonprofit information resource dedicated to helping people locate assistance programs to help them afford their medications and other healthcare costs. To learn more, go to www.needymeds.org
  • Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company — An online wholesaler that offers brand-name and generic medicines at significantly reduced prices. To learn more, go to www.costplusdrugs.com

1  The Pfizer Patient Assistance Program is a joint program of Pfizer Inc. and the Pfizer Patient Assistance Foundation™. The Pfizer Patient Assistance Foundation is a separate legal entity from Pfizer Inc. with distinct legal restrictions.

2  Product availability varies by institution and eligibility.

3  Terms and conditions apply. Patients who participate in any federal or state healthcare programs, such as Medicaid or Medicare, are not eligible for co-pay assistance. However, these patients may be eligible to receive their medicine for free through the Pfizer Patient Assistance Program. Terms and conditions apply.
